This position at MCC is for a professor who will primarily teach theology courses such as Systematic Theology I and II, Advanced Interpretation, Christian Ethics, History and Theology of the Early Church, Christ in Culture, Theology through the Centuries, and topics in theology of special interest to the professor. This person would also have the opportunity to teach an occasional Bible class of his/her choice. Responsibilities will include a teaching load of 27 hours per academic year, student academic advising, faculty committee appointments, interaction with students to promote a mentoring atmosphere, regular office hours on campus, and participation in course assessment.
The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. in Theology, although others with advanced degrees or with terminal degrees in progress will be considered. He or she should bring college teaching experience, ministerial or church-related experience, a philosophy of education appropriate for undergraduate studies, a theological approach which seeks to serve the church, desire to participate in a college which integrates theological and ministry training, and a background in, as well as, a commitment to the Christian Church/Churches of Christ and the ideals of the Stone-Campbell Movement. Manhattan Christian College is an independent college affiliated with independent Christian Churches/Churches of Christ.
