Abilene Divinity Student wins 2020 Isaac Errett Award

Joel Childers of Abilene Christian University Graduate School once again provided the winning paper for the 2020 competition. He also won in 2019. His paper this year was titled: “Responses to the Attack on Pearl Harbor in Journals from the Methodist Church and Churches of Christ.” Joel presented his paper during the 2020 SCJ Virtual Conference, Sept 10-12, hosted by Johnson University Tennessee. The $250 prize, provided by the Disciples of Christ Historical Society, was presented to Joel by Rick Lowery, President. The competition was conducted by Newell Williams of Brite Divinity School, and Douglas Foster of Abilene Christian University. The judges were from three universities representing the three streams of the movement.
