Since initiated in 2003, the annual awarding of Stone-Campbell Journal Promising Scholar Awards has become an anticipated, Spring tradition among many colleges, universities, and graduate schools connected to SCJ. Students are selected by faculty as the most promising of their graduating class to succeed at their next level of biblical or theological education, whether in a master’s program or a Ph.D. program. These award are presented at awards or graduation ceremonies. This year, 23 students were honored at 16 different schools. Sixteen of these were undergraduates, and 7 were graduate students.
Those honored receive a Promising Scholar certificate from SCJ plus a year's free subscription to SCJ. See the full list plus past recipients here.
